About Our Shows

We have a diverse repertoire fitting many occasions, and we're ready to entertain audiences big and small. Whether your event is a formal affair or convention or a smaller, more intimate occasion, our chorus can tailor a performance to meet your needs.

Performance Packages

Performance packages consist of a variety of music including swing tunes from the 40's and 50's, tender ballads or hymns, doo-wop, energetic and fun up-tunes, and standards from across the musical spectrum.  Most of our performance repertoire consists of songs that will be familiar to most audiences. Performance times can be adjusted to fit your specific program needs. Quartets from within the chorus may also perform as part of the "show package."

ANNUAL SPRING SHOW

The annual show is our main public performance of the season.  It is held at the Kiwanis Community Theatre Centre on the first Saturday of April, unless that is the Easter weekend. 

Our annual shows are not generally a concert-style performance but more typically involve a storyline and characters woven among the songs creating a musical-comedy theatre experience staged with the help of accomplished actors, stage managers2014 Guest Quartet STORM FRONT - 2010 International Quartet Champs and stage directors from the thriving local theatre community. 

A top-notch quartet, often of International Quartet Champion credentials, performs after intermission, rounding out the evening's a cappella experience. 

Curtain is 7:30 pm and shows typically run just under 2.5 hours

Smaller performances throughout the community that run 30-45 minutes and which may include such events as:

Holiday parties

Festive a cappella renditions of your holiday favorites add to the merriment of your seasonal get-togethers.

Civic Events, Arts Festivals, Corporate Events, Fundraisers and more...

Retirement Homes

We are welcomed each year by several homes for seniors and are always greeted with great enthusiasm by the residents who often can't help but sing along with us on some of those great old songs that were popular in their heyday.  But since our music spans the 20th century, we're sure to have songs in our repertoire that will be familiar to any age group.

Weddings

Wedding receptions are particularly suited to the intimacy of four voices singing in perfect harmony directly to the bride and groom at close range.  One of our chapter quartets may be an appropriate choice here.  See our quartet contact page here.

Sporting Events Quartets from the Northland Barbershop Chorus have often sung the National Anthems of both Canada and the USA at Soo Greyhound and LSSU Laker hockey games.  They would be happy to sing either Anthem before any sized audience at your upcoming event.  See our quartet contact page here.
